Ken Barton & his wife Jo spent another Okanagan winter in New Zealand & Australia, after first attending Ken’s mother’s 100th birthday party in England.  They started at the Bay of Islands, in the northeast corner of New Zealand’s north island, where relatives took them fishing & then smoked the fish.  They stumbled across the exclusive Kauri Cliffs Lodge & Golf Club, where most players arrive by helicopter, & pay $500 for a round!  In Melbourne, Australia, they saw the Docklands redevelopment, then visited Eden, NSW, on the coast between Sydney & Melbourne.  A trip to Tasmania included Hobart, the capital, & Port Arthur, which is known for supplying codeine & morphine from their white poppies.  (Photo by Keith Johnston)
